Blue fire & illusions swarm this dense D&D battlemap built for a brawl on the edge of reality. Slip into the alleys of your city and see what monstrous deals & demons you encounter! They don’t call it the Foxfire Alley for nothing…

Here’s a map that sprung spontaneously out of the depths of my mind. Don’t you love liminal spaces? You can separate this map into three or four separate areas with careful cropping — use the main temple entrance by itself, use the streets & alley without the void-market, or use the void market as a kind of bazaar on the edge of reality. Or you can have one long chase or explosive push through the whole length of the map.

The Water Market’s bottom street entrances are fully compatible with the Japanese Narrow Streets tileset!

Thoughts

• A taunting lord sits on the pagoda balcony, casting spells down at intruders.
• Local spirits offer (cursed) items that seem suspiciously useful in the heat of battle. Random chance if they’re real or not, and your guess is as good as any if they come with side effects. Also, they charge outrageous prices for humans in a hurry.

• Void Road: Ever played Godbound? This was inspired by the Night Roads — vast, teeming tunnels through the Uncreated Night, teeming with the fangs of chaos.
• Void Temple: Possibly what lies at the end of the Void Road. Possibly something lost in space. Probably going to be your doom, either way.
• Water Market: A brilliantly-lit mundane market built up around the moat of a dilapidated temple, for those not in an explicitly supernatural mood.
• Ocean Palace: Could be a lake or a river palace too. A rocky shoreline protects this old temple!
• Day/Night Variants: Wherever applicable!
